Full Sail Hosts Orlando GiveCamp Weekend

National event has coders and designers build short-term web projects for non-profit organizations.

Full Sail Hosts Orlando GiveCamp Weekend Volunteers donated their time to help develop websites for non-profit organizations.

Orlando technology professionals recently took the time to put their services towards a good cause at Full Sail University as a part of National GiveCamp Weekend.

While we're all familiar with the idea of donating and giving back to non-profit organizations and charities, GiveCamp puts a unique spin on the concept by allowing designers, developers, marketers, and web strategists to donate their time to provide solutions for these groups. Since its inception in 2007, the program has provided benefits to hundreds of charities, worth millions of dollars of developer and designer time in services.

The event's volunteers – including Full Sail faculty and students – spent three days on campus, working on a variety of projects for non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando Area, Florida Literacy Coalition, Homegrown Local Food Cooperative, Conrad Educational Foundation, and Children's Home Society of Florida.

The GiveCamp teams wrapped up their weekends with a showcase of all of the projects that they were able to complete during the event. To learn more about GiveCamp, visit givecamp.org.
