The GRAMMY®s are known as the biggest night in music, and this year was no exception. The 2010 ceremony saw dozens of performances, tributes, and of course, the awards.
Watching the show from the floor of the Staples Center, we were pleased to see 20 of this year’s GRAMMY®-winning projects – including Taylor Swift’s Album of the Year winner, Fearless – featured the work of 36 different Full Sail graduates.
This marked the sixth consecutive year that Full Sail University has celebrated the fact that 100 or more graduates contributed to GRAMMY®-nominated projects, and this year, grads were involved in the production of 76 individual artists’ projects, which were nominated in 58 separate categories.
Four graduates were personally nominated for awards, including Jim Caruana for his work as Vocal Engineer on Beyonce’s “Halo,” Padraic Kerin and Dylan Dresdow for their role as Engineer and Mixer on the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling,” and Phil Tan for Mixing Anthony Hamilton’s Best R&B Album nominee The Point of It All.
“Full Sail is proud to celebrate having so many of our graduates recognized for their work on GRAMMY-winning projects,” says Garry Jones, President of Full Sail University. “This is truly a remarkable accomplishment that students today can strive to achieve by turning their passion and love for music into a great success in the entertainment industry.”
