The nominees for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards have been revealed and Full Sail’s Alumni Division is proud to announce that three graduates of the Recording Arts program have been nominated in two different categories for the 2010/2011 television season.

Nominated in the field of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series is 2003 graduate Chad Hughes, who worked as sound effects editor on the CW spy series Nikita. Chad joined the show during its first year, and was singled out for his work on the season finale “Pandora”. Chad has been credited on nearly 50 film and television projects during his career, and this marks his second Emmy nomination, following a 2008 nod for his work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Two graduates were nominated in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour). 2002 grad Jeremy Balko was recognized for his efforts as ADR mixer on the hit Showtime series Dexter, for the episode “Take It.” Jeremy has previously worked as an ADR mixer on a string of other hit series, including True Blood, Castle, Eastbound & Down, and Nip/Tuck. This year marks his second Emmy nomination for his work on Dexter, having been named in the same category during the 2009/2010 season.

Also in contention for Outstanding Sound Mixing is 1999 graduate Brad North, who got the nod for his work as re-recording mixer on the “Bombshells” episode of Fox’s House M.D.. Brad has been working in the audio industry for over a decade, and has additional credits on films like 300, All the King’s Men, and August Rush. He was previously honored for his work on House by the Golden Reel Awards, having received the statue for Best Sound Editing in Television Short Form Television in 2006 and 2008.

Chad, Jeremy, and Brad have logged hundreds of hours of work on many of the most popular shows on television, and Full Sail would like to congratulate these graduates on their achievements over the past year.
